Ms. Straniere is a lifelong Staten Islander with a passion for the arts who has used her creative energy to support organizations and initiatives that bring culture to life in her hometown. She joined the Staten Island Museum team as Community Campaign Coordinator in 2013 and has since advanced to Development Manager, generating support for the Museum through special events, grants, outreach, and membership. Prior to working at the Museum, she was the Director of Tourism & Cultural Affairs for the Staten Island Borough President’s Office. Ms. Straniere currently serves on the Mayor’s Citizens Advisory Committee for the Cultural Plan for NYC. A graduate of Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA) with a BA in English, she also attended the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England (MA in Studies in Fiction). She lives in West Brighton with her husband, daughter, two cats, and too many books.
