As Americans, we have all come from somewhere, whether it’s a different state, U.S. region, or a completely separate country; but what is the story of where we originated as individuals and as a society? Sundog’s Heritage Awareness program gives students the opportunity to discover the immigrant experience by investigating Ellis Island, recreating theatrical migrant journeys, or even making connections to their own family’s unique story. Get on board with a master teaching artist, create works of art, experience cultural dances, or interview family members, remembering people who left everything they knew for a brighter future. For Grades 3 – 6.
