Using Art as a Catalyst For Change – An Anti-Gun Violence Initiative

July 16, 2019 By

Sundog Theatre’s “Soundtrack of Life” was devised by teaching artist Jeannine Otis and involves bringing artists into the school setting to teach students the structure of how to put their thoughts into song, poetry, and rap. They then record them—turning themselves into change makers and giving themselves a community through the arts in which they can safely and constructively express and communicate. The topics for this initiative are anti gun violence and conflict resolution. These original pieces written by students are reflections of their experiences, thoughts, and solutions. We hope you enjoy what these young artists have created.
