Scenes From The Staten Island Ferry 2024

Scenes from the Staten Island Ferry is Sundog Theatre’s 22nd annual presentation of six new and original one-act plays about everyone’s favorite boats, the Staten Island ferries. This year, playwrights were asked to adhere to the theme “things are not what they seem” while still maintaining a comedic or dramatic effect.

January 13:
“Jesus Burger” by Robert Kornhiser
Director: Gabrielle Canci
Featuring actors: Gabrielle Canci, Nick Easton, Regina Paleau, Caroline Russell, Shea Ryan, Jai Sada, and Mike Veasey
Jesus Burger is a comedy that tells the story of a woman who sees a familiar religious face while grilling burgers on a hot day.

January 22:
“Undermined: Murder in the Sands”  by Patrick J. Lyons
Director: Craig Stoebling
Featuring actors: Nick Easton, Deanna Giordano, Cheryl Grogan, Robert Heffernan and Caroline Russell
A 1940’s detective is on a mission to unravel the corruption in his small town and in doing so, will discover some cold hard truths about those he loves.

January 27:
“Once Upon A Time” by L.D. Potter
Director: Ken Tirado
Featuring actors: Gabrielle Canci, Jack Dabdoub, and Ken Tirado
A radio broadcast of what’s supposed to be a bedtime story for children, turns into a heated argument between a married couple live on-air. Havoc ensues in this epic comedy.
